Our Philosophy of Care and Growth
Talisman Camps is built on the belief that every child can succeed when they are supported, understood, and encouraged. Our programs are designed specifically for campers with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and related learning or social needs.
We focus on:
- Strengths-based skill building
- Clear structure and predictable routines
- Adventure and hands-on learning
- Social-emotional growth
- Positive reinforcement and individualized support
Our goal is to help campers develop confidence, independence, friendships, and skills they can carry into school, home, and everyday life.
A Positive and Supportive Environment
Camps are intentionally small, allowing staff to provide consistent guidance and attentive supervision. Our days follow clear routines that help campers know what to expect and reduce anxiety or stress.
Staff Training and Supervision
All staff receive extensive training in:
- Neurodiversity-affirming support practices
- Behavior management and emotional regulation strategies
- Communication tools for campers with social or language challenges
- Emergency procedures, first aid, and risk management protocols
Counselors, activity leaders, and support staff work closely together to ensure each camper feels secure, understood, and empowered.
