Our Aspergers Summer Camp Florida helps kids and young adults with Aspergers syndrome to reach their maximum potential and to accomplish their personal goals. Our program is tailored to campers with Aspergers. We offer our campers the assistance they need and an opportunity to create the best summer memories.
So, if you are looking for a camp that can offer your child fun, recreational activities, integration with other kids and a chance to learn and improve its skills – Our Aspergers Summer Camp Florida is definitely the best choice for you!
How This Camp Works
Children receive support and assistance directly from our trained staff. We create different groups according to our camper’s age and focus carefully on their needs. Our programs are specially designed to meet every camper’s individual needs and to help improve and develop his or her social skills so they can be successful long after camp ends.
We try to create a natural environment for your child where he or she can feel comfortable enough to socialize with other kids with Aspergers syndrome and build friendships that will last forever. Our close, involved community environment promotes relationship-building, and allows us to meet the individual needs of each camper.
Every day is highly-structured and filled with new adventures within a familiar schedule. Activities include day hikes, swimming, tubing down a local river, overnight camping, rock climbing, technical tree climbing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, nature studies and more! Throughout each activity, emphasis is put on communication, social skills, and building self esteem. In all activities, we use a “Challenge by Choice” approach, meaning that we will encourage campers to stretch their limits in trying something new, but will never force them. We are the leading Aspergers summer camp Florida families choose, do not hesitate to call us to learn more!
How You and Your Child can Benefit from our Camp
Every activity at Talisman’s camp for ADHD and autism spectrum kids is designed for fun, as well as hands-on learning. In the morning, campers complete their personal hygiene routine and chores with the help of a morning checklist. They emerge from their newly renovated cabins at 8:15 a.m. for morning group, where they set goals and discuss the schedule for the day. By pre-processing what to expect, our campers feel less anxious and are prepared for success. These habits can carry on to their home environment to make life much easier on parents.
