      Discovery Camp for Ages 6 & 7

The Talisman Discovery Camp is an introduction into Talisman summer camp programs for the younger campers. Discovery Camp is designed specifically for six and seven-year-olds that exhibit signs of ADHD, asperger’s, autism, social anxiety, and other special needs. While this camp is much shorter than our traditional programs- six days- the little campers get to experience most of what Talisman has to offer. Discovery Camp follows a consistent, routine schedule so that the campers can become accustomed to camp life. The main focus of Talisman Discovery Camp is for younger campers with special needs to build foundational skills in a comfortable environment. By working in a group of peers of a similar age and with similar abilities, young campers are able to experience socially. They can make new friends, improve their communication skills, and enhance their conflict resolution skills in a fun and safe environment. Discovery Camp campers get to experience fun activities and significant personal growth. They are exposed to exciting activities such as hiking and technical tree climbing, all while making friends along the way! Our staff encourages younger campers to make friends with one another, which can also help to naturally improve their communication skills. In addition to partaking in fun activities, our campers also have ample opportunity to learn how to communicate and solve problems constructively.
