An Autism and ADHD School Can Help
Our Autism and ADHD school can help your son
Talisman Semesters is an autism spectrum disorder and ADHD school for boys, ages 12 to 17. Our school helps adolescent boys with their academic and social struggles. At Talisman, our students improve their social, independent, and academic skills. Boys in our autism and ADHD school build self-esteem as they develop life skills that allow them to navigate their world more successfully.
After attending our autism and ADHD school, our students are better able to make and keep friends, live more independently, and manage challenging situations more effectively. Our boys unlock their motivation to learn and progress toward a future of their choice.
Who we help
Often our students come to our autism and ADHD school feeling defeated. They are resistant to school, lacking friends, and easily frustrated. For our boys who are struggling socially and academically, we provide a safe and nurturing environment in which they feel accepted and encouraged to build the skills they need to find success.
Our students in our autism and ADHD school usually exhibit the following characteristics:
- Male 12-17 years old
- Middle and High school grades
- IQ 85 or higher
- Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum or ADHD
- No acute mental health issues: not needing clinical care or treatment program
- Socially awkward
- Age-appropriate verbal ability
- Sensory integration issues
- Ability to communicate in group discussions: may not want to, but can
- Physically able to manage self care: may not choose to do well
Unique among Autism and ADHD schools
At Talisman, we’ve been helping adolescents with ADHD and autism for more than 40 years. In our decades of working with these children, we’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. In our autism and ADHD school, we make learning a fun and engaging experience that motivates our students to take charge of their lives.
Our staff at Talisman are highly trained and passionate about leading others to an independent, healthy life. We have an intentionally small school so that we can focus on the unique needs of each student. Our semester-long sessions allow our students to make lifelong friends. We promote independent living through teaching our students life skills that will transfer from the program to home. We’re here to help your son succeed.
